The one thing that I really liked about Adobe's BC was that I could go in and make a new page to learn the system. I think I must have created and deleted 6 or 7 sites there while learning their system and this ability to create new sites on a whim was VERY useful to me in the learning process. All of their modules were available to 'play' with and I found out really quickly what we could and could not do with their system.

From what I understand about ProFusion (and I could be totally wrong. It's happened before!), we have to actually sell a site before we can go in and play/learn the system. I know we have the one dealer site that gets set up but I would hate to go in and start messing around with that and end up with something that is totally fubar. I would rather go mess around with that AFTER I am comfortable with how things work. Sure it looks really easy, but I can be really dumb sometimes. lol!

I can understand not having the ability to create sites on a whim, cause that would obviously take up a lot of space, time and such, but maybe a second 'learning site' that has all the modules available for experiments might be an option? Something that is not available to go live, but accessible to those people working with me for training purposes so they can see how to add and set up all the modules and customize the look without worrying about totally jacking up the dealer page.

Just a thought.

Donna,

I agree that it would be great to have all the modules available on a "test-only" site for us to learn by. I also agree that while we do have a whole bunch of modules at our fingertips as a CPrint dealer/promo package, I'm anticipating those to go live some time soon and - as mentioned - won't really be a training module any longer since it will be our LIVE site.

I'm not sure what the NSNA policy is regarding the creation of test sites. I do know that Patrice was nice enough to let me play around with a demo site (I believe it was a UIS Basic) for a new client before needing to purchase that product. It did not have all the bells and whistles (modules) that we'd like to play around with ... but it was nice of her to let me use a demo-site to get started on. It allowed me to come up with a "sample site" for my client and - based upon him seeing this "sample site" - he became our first website client.

So I agree with you that it would be great to have access to all of the modules (and a UIS Pro site) for learning purposes only.

Still King of The World,
Glenn ;-)

We like it when you sell a site. So I like that idea. Or you could just go to www.profusiondealer.com and request a demosite. Or you could just login to your Project Management System Control panel and use the demo site that has been set up for you. Check the overview tab for login info. If you need a module added to your demosite, just use the add module form on the ProFusion Dealer website. Give us a call if you do not know how to access your account on the Project Management System.

Bob - So if I add a module is it available immediately or is there a wait time for someone at your end to pop it into the 'available to use' bin of goodies? <-- technical term

I will talk to my super and ask them to give me the go ahead to request a test site because that really does seem like a good thing to have. At least for me. I can see throwing together quickie mock ups that cater to specific potential clients to try and help sell them on the idea of investing in a new or improved site. I know I'm always ready to buy stuff if I see something that caters to me.

I hadn't even considered the fact that eventually the dealer site will go live and I won't want to jack that up by experimenting on it.

PS. Glenn... maybe crown prince... MAYBE.

Matching techincal terms, we have to "pop it in" after or during the site set up. It is a manual process, but anyone here can do it. We need the form to track the transactions, but you can call if you need it right away after the site has been set up.
